Is Your Cat Planning Your Murder? - by Tina Lamoreux

Do you ever notice your cat acting strange? Do you notice them lurking around corners, and watching your every move? Cats are mysterious creatures, their mannerisms are hard to interpret, unlike dogs who wear their hearts on their tails.

Cats were domesticated from larger wild cats like lions and tigers. Their ferocious ancestors were hunters of large prey. Gradually as the cats were domesticated and tamed, their large fangs got smaller and humans gave them names like Fluffy and Princess. But if you watch your cat closely, underneath all the bedazzled collars and tutus, the primal instincts still remain.

Well-fed house cats still like to hunt mice and birds, but they do not eat the prey. They kill for the sport and torment the small creatures for the fun of it. A housecat that is stuck inside 24/7 has no way to release those animal impulses. This can lead to damaging psychological effects, like murderous tendencies.

Unlike dogs, (who claim the title of man’s best friend) cats do not think of their humans as ‘owners’, cats see themselves as the ruler of the household. If you (the human) act out of line or disobey your cat, there will be consequences.

Do you think your cat is plotting your demise? The eyes and tail are how cats emote to their humans. If you are a cat owner, you should learn cat body language to find out if they are trying to kill you. Here are some things to look out for, these might just save your life.

Some Behaviors To Look Out For

Do you find yourself dodging objects that fall dangerously close to your head? Like potted plants for marble bookends? Move all heavy and breakable objects off high shelves and place them where your cat cannot get to them, like in a closet.
Cats flick the tip of their tail when they are annoyed. Ears bending backward is another sign of your cat on high alert. A puffed-up tail and hair raised along the spine is a sign that is already too late and you should have your last will and testament ready.

Your cat may go through momentary moments of rage from lack of food. For humans, we call this ‘hangry’. Feeding your cat their favorite food can momentarily satisfy the bloodlust of your pet.

Catnip has a calming effect on cats, buying a catnip plant or toy can help them relax. By keeping them fed and drowsy, the percentage of murder drastically goes down.
Does your cat watch you sleep? Their eyes flashing and paws swiping at the foot of the bed? Provide your cat with interactive toys so they won’t mistake your hands and feet as small prey.

The main only solution that is one hundred percent effective to prevent a cat from ending your life is to adopt a dog instead.
