Professor and Teacher Sleuths

As everyone prepares for the start of a new school year, I’m reminded of the hard work professors and teachers put in to get ready. I’m sure we would all love to know what they do during their free time outside of school. Here are a few Cozy Cat Press series that focus on professor and teacher sleuths.

In CJ Whitmore Mysteries by JT Toman, the Economics Department’s only tenured female CJ Whitmore uses her sleuthing skills to solve murders on campus. In “Picking Lemons,” she uses economic principles to get to the truth about Professor Edmund de Beyer’s murder. In “Occam’s Murder,” she must solve the murder of a fellow faculty member for the upcoming election for department chair. In “A Handful of Worldliness,” she must solve a suspicious murder at the nearby headquarters of a home shopping network. The first two books of Karen Fowler Mysteries by Kathy Johnston follows Karen Fowler in the world of education. In “Fatal Lesson,” she is the assistant principal who must solve a murder at a small town school. In “Fatal Faculty,” she teaches a course at night at the local college who must solve a murder at the college. Matthew Diggerson Mysteries by D.G. Gillespie follows Composition Professor Mattew Diggerson who turns sleuth to uncover clues about murders happening on his college campus. Piano Teacher Mysteries by Ann Buys follows Maggie Brown who discovers the truth through sleuthing. In “The Mozart Murder Mystery,” she must find the connection between a kidnapping and a murder at the theatre. Professors and teachers can be sleuths in cozy mysteries. Whether they are still teaching or retired, their experience comes in handy when trying to solve mysteries. They put in a lot of work each school year to help students learn. So don’t forget to appreciate all professors and teachers and the work they do!
